Film and Animation workshops currently take place during the school holidays. The centre works with organisations such as the Animation Station, Banbury and Oxford Film & Video Makers in order to bring the most experienced filmmakers and animators to Bicester. ANIMANIA Young people aged 9 - 14 years spent a day and a half animating a nonsense poem, creating crazy characters and silly sets to bring the poem to life.
3D SPECIAL FX Ten young people aged 8 - 12 years took part in a 3D special movie and live action FX project with award winning artist and filmmaker Vikaas Mistry. The group learnt how to create stories and to turn them into film using blue screen special effects and animation figures. The Courtyard was pleased to host this event as part of the Summerscreen Festival of Film for Young People, organised by Oxford Film and Video Makers in Oxford. BBC MINI MOVIES
BBC Oxford Producer Tim Bearder worked with eight young people aged 13 - 17 years with the aim of creating a series of short films. The group learnt how to plan and create storyboards, discussing the most effective ways of telling their story. They also learnt the basics of using a camera, with some of the group staying firmly behind it and others having the opportunity to act in front of it.
